Your Project – Part Two

It’s time to take your storyboard and see if others like your idea.

Make sure your storyboard is visible for others to see. It should highlight your guiding question, your rough draft answer, the main steps you plan to take to develop your idea and a short overview of your thinking (why you’re doing what you’re doing, how you think this will answer the question, what success looks like to you).

As a class, you will go around to each station, view the concept and offer feedback. Is the research and story idea well-thought-out? Is it realistic? Is there a good plan in place to develop the story? What’s missing?

To deliver feedback, use Post-it notes to add comments to each display.

Ideas for feedback:

  1. Ask a clarifying question.
  2. Inject realism into the idea by pointing out aspects that might be good in theory, but harder to achieve in practice.
  3. Highlight what you like best (and possibly suggest that the attribute be scaled or replicated, if appropriate).
  4. Don’t simply criticize an idea; offer a better alternative.
  5. Suggest stakeholders that should be interviewed.
  6. Share ideas, resources and tools that you’re using that might help someone else.
  7. If you haven’t already, suggest collaboration opportunities by pointing out similarities with other boards.
  8. Offer a word of encouragement!
