How to affect change? Well, in a world of endless opportunity, sometimes it requires a bit of focus, but it also requires the ability to manage precious resources. Whether it’s launching a project start-up or overseeing a major governmental agency, everyone needs a little help from a Chartered Professional Accountant. In fact, though it might not seem glamorous, the world of accounting does shape our world – keeping businesses profitable and accountable, helping innovations succeed and non-profits measure impact. Indeed, Amanda Gierling has done more than most to shape our country. A CPA with the office of the superintendent of financial institutions – an agency that helps us maintain confidence in the banks – Amanda knows first-hand why staying focused leads to the gold. Literally.
After putting her children to bed, Amanda shared her insights from a career in accounting and told us why good budgeting can change the world.
