Finding Common Ground Through Story

Curriculum Connections:

  • English 10–12 – Critical thinking, perspective, and persuasive writing
  • Media Literacy – Evaluating sources and bias
  • Creative Writing 11 – Personal and reflective writing

Big Idea:
Stories help people see issues from multiple perspectives and build empathy across divides.

Learning Objectives:

  • Analyze nonfiction storytelling techniques that convey complex issues.
  • Identify tone, bias, and perspective in the “Canada at a Crossroads” narrative.
  • Reflect on personal or community connections to these themes.
