How do you make money and do good? Just ask Dev Aujla – he’s literally written the book on the subject. Author of Making Good: Finding Meaning, Money & Community in a Changing World and 50 Ways to Get a Job: An Unconventional Guide to Finding Work on Your Terms, Dev is the world’s leading expert on how to blend passion, mission and skills. It all started when Dev was in high school and founded DreamNow – a non-profit design studio that built products and programs that change the world. The organization, which he still oversees, has impacted the lives of over a half million people, while raising millions for projects that change the way we do good. His non-profit work built the base for a transition into the business realm where, in addition to being a member of the Juxtapose team – an early stage venture fund – he founded Catalog. As CEO of the recruiting and facilitation firm, he’s worked with companies from BMW to Change.org to help innovative minds find innovative jobs. He’s won numerous awards, speaks regularly and blogs and writes for the likes of INC Magazine, Fast Company, New York Times and the Globe and Mail. Oh, and in his spare time, he runs the sorted Library – a small reading space in New York. Exhausted yet? Dev’s not; he’s just getting started.

The Victoria native joined us by Skype from his New York office to discuss why there truly are 50 ways to get a job – and why you can find a job that allows you to live a life of meaning.
