To understand local and global trends, it’s important to understand innovation and entrepreneurship. And one of Canada’s leading thinkers on the future of work is Sean Mullin. An economist, public policy expert, leader and thinker, he was the founding executive director of the Brookfield Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and has served as a senior economic adviser to prime minister Justin Trudeau. Sean, who holds an MBA from Oxford, has been shaping major economic public policy for more than a decade. He’s consulted with the technology, non-profit and public sectors on business strategy and management. He’s advised the Premier of Ontario, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ontario’s Minister of Finance, on the development of the province’s annual budget. And he’s served as the chief of staff at a private equity firm in Toronto. He speaks and writes frequently on tax policy, infrastructure, clean technology, economic development and entrepreneurship.
When we sat down with Sean in Toronto, we had to ask: What does real innovation look like and why is it so critical to solving the challenges we face in society?
