When you grow up working on a dairy farm in rural British Columbia, you gain an appreciation for two things: the value of nature and the importance of hard work. And hard work defines Libby Garg. She is the co-founder of WorkSolute – a business management tech start-up that works with the likes of Burger King and PetValu. She is the managing partner of Selterre, with investments in a host of businesses. She owns multiple Freshii franchises. She’s a Justice of the Peace and sits on the Leadership Advisory Circle for the Indigenous Centre for Innovation and Technology. But beyond the titles, and with degrees in commerce, economics and law, Libby is a business leader who is committed to community and believes strongly that good research is at the heart of good business – and that good business is the ultimate tool with which to create a better society.
We spoke with Libby about the value of research, the importance of her Okanagan Nation culture and her outspoken conservative politics at her downtown Toronto home.
